A course over 3 sessions to teach you the basics of crochet (UK terminology)

Learn how to make a chain, double crochet, treble and half treble, slip stitch, join and work in the round, and how to follow a pattern and a chart - haven’t had a failure yet!

Class materials include: hook that suits you, choice of yarn, stitch marker, reference instructions and we keep classes small to ensure you get all the attention you need.

We don’t start the class with a project in mind; the aim of the course is to get you absolutely confident in the basic stitches so that when you tackle the pattern in week three, you can get to work right away on the instructions because you have become accustomed to working the stitches without too much thought.

And once you master the basics, you can do anything!

Please note: there will be homework…

Course starts Sunday 19th Jan, from 12.30-2.30pm and for the two following Sundays at the same time.

Know how to knit but want to try something a bit more interesting? Fancy making some amazing texture in your knitted fabric? Use a cable st!

These gorgeous textures are more simple than you think, and are a superb addition to your knitting encyclopedia. Learn how to twist your stitches, how to make cables in multiple sizes, how to follow a chart and understand the abbreviations involved.

All materials are provided, along with hot drinks and brain food. Bring reading glasses if you need them!

Spaces are limited so book early to avoid missing out. All payments are taken in advance to secure your place.

You must be able to knit and purl and follow basic knitting instructions to get the best out of this class,

Starts Monday 20th January at 12.30-2.30, and concludes Monday 27th at the same time

Want to try something new this year? Fancy making something portable and totally cosy to wear in cold weather?

Learn to knit socks in our friendly classes, starting Monday 3rd February at 12.30 pm. The sessions last 2 hours max and last over 3 weeks, with homework inbetween times.

|Suitable for those who can already knit. All materials are provided and hot drinks and brain food come as standard :)

You get the choice of DK or 4 ply sock yarn (DK is quicker but 4 ply is finer) needles, and a pattern and stitch markers.

A three session class with all the basics covered.

Learn how to work the knit stitch, purl, cast on and off, make increases and decreases, and learn how to follow a pattern with all the language you need to get you going.

All materials will be provided and all you need to bring is yourself (and reading glasses if needed)

Hot drinks and brain food available too :)

Suitable for adults and children over 10 years old who can concentrate for at least an hour. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, who will have to pay for their place on the course too.

Great for those who want to start a new craft, or those who want a wee refresher of skills that are buried in your head somewhere :)

Classes are on three consecutive Sundays, beginning on Sunday 9th February at 12.30 - 2.30 and ending Sunday 23rd February.
