Solvarg Cowl

by Lanja Khon-Engheim, pattern is free on Ravelry and can be found here.

Made using 1 skein (50g) of background pale pink Kinross 4 ply yarn available here and three colours of Shetland minis 10g balls (available instore only).

You can also use 1 contrast Kinross shade instead of the multiple shades shown here, but its a great way of using up odd bits of yarn.

Knitted in West Yorkshire Spinners Exquisite 4 ply shade Bayswater (1 skein, 100g) and Wee County Yarns Kinross 4 ply shade Snowdrop (2 skeins, 50g)

Not all of the Snowdrop was used and I adapted the edging by stopping after one lace chart repeat and using a picot cast off in Bayswater.

Really enjoyed knitting this, and it blocked out beautifully. Very drapey and soft next to the skin. A decent sized shawl too, mine finished at 30” x 66” after blocking.

Knitted in Juniper Moon Herriot Fine shade 2042 (1 skein, 100g) and Stewart Yarns Merino fingering shade Fankle Pink (1 skein 100g)

There is more than enough yarn leftover to make another cowl, maybe a matching one in reverse colours, or a hat or gloves. Followed easy and instinctive charted pattern with a couple of extra repeats as the yarn was finer than the design used.

Very happy with the result; the yarns are gorgeous to work with and the grey tones down the neon pick to make it very wearable. Fits close to the neck and drapes beautifully.

WILLINGDON JACKET

Knitted in Yeoman yarns Alpaca Kajam Chunky (2 cones, 600m per 400g cone) Available instore.

Top down, chunky weight with clever shoulder shaping. This was a fairly quick knit and a cozy one, with an interesting stitch pattern to keep you going. The yarn is a mixture of alpaca, wool and acrylic giving you the best of all worlds - silkiness and warmth form the natural fibres and practicality from the acrylic. A satisfying knit.
