Beardy Chiel Arnbeg Alpaca and Rose fingering
Beardy Chiel Arnbeg Alpaca and Rose fingering
An unusual and luxurious yarn from the Beardy Chiel, based in the Highlands of Scotland.
Rose fibres have been blended with Alpaca yarn to change the properties of the latter - the yarn is still soft, strong and smooth, but the rose fibre adds springiness and elasticity to the usually drapey alpaca, making a soft sprung texturally interesting yarn which is ideal for those with wool allergies.
The rose makes this a strong yarn as well, hard to break in the skein and ideal for hard wearing items like socks and hats. (I say hats cos my hubby is hard on his hats!)
The alpaca is naturally coloured and the rose fibre lends an interesting marl effect throughout the yarn. I am going to enjoy knitting with this!
380m per 100g skein, 70% alpaca, 30% rose, 2.25-3.25mm needles recommended, Hand wash.
